Explore the Western Frontier in this upcoming open-world adventure title from Altair Games, Wild West Survival.
As the post suggests, you step foot onto American soil striving to live well as a cowboy or a cowgirl. Through a day and night cycle, you can explore the large and colorful environments as you maintain your survival stats of hunger and thirst, endurance against wildlife and hunting, and livestock and farming once settling becomes routine into your life.
Imagine if the concepts of The Oregon Trail and Red Dead Redemption 2 were mashed together to conjure a stylistic and Minecraft-esque experience. That’s exactly what Wild West Survival appears to be through its Early Access trailer (as seen below).
The given footage shows a brief glimpse into the character customization while fast-tracking by multiple biomes featured within the game. Backed by patriotic and spaghetti western music, the basic mechanics are displayed through gameplay aspects that involve all of the major ingredients that Wild West Survival has to offer. There’s also a building system that can be used for home structure and farming.
Construct towns throughout the map as you continue to interact with various NPCs – from civilians and sheriffs, to hired guns and ruthless bandits. Hop on your horse or sit beside others on a train. Look after your crops while you craft new tools and weapons to help you on your western endeavors.
Essentially, anything you can picture from an old western setting is bound to be a part of Wild West Survival (probably except for horrendous diseases).
Although not much of an official release date has been announced, there is a supposed release window of July 2020 on the Steam page that suggests it will be out soon. As of now, Wild West Survival will be available on Early Access for the PC through Steam. No information about console ports can be reported at this time.
