Winter Love Island fans think Samie Elishi has assumed the villainous attitude Olivia Hawkins showcased on the show. However, Olivia started the season as one of the most beloved characters that changed as the season progressed. It only took the introduction of bombshell Zara Deniz Lanckenby-by Brown for Olivia to unravel into the most villainous character on Winter Love Island 2023.
The tension between the two girls began when Zara called Olivia two-faced during a challenge shortly after Zara entered the villa. The two became more complicated due to their entangled love triangle with Tom Clare. Still, later in the season, Olivia raised eyebrows with her behavior toward her former love interest Kai Fagan. The two were coupled up before Casa Amor but recoupled with other people during the challenge.
However, Olivia kept gaslighting Kai for recoupling with Sanam. She even tried to force an apology out of him even though she had also coupled up with Maxwell during Casa Amor. Olivia’s misadventures in the villa didn’t end there. Shortly before getting dumped out of the villa, Olivia and Jessie Wynter faced off after the latter called Olivia out for talking wrong about her behind her back. Since leaving the villa, Olivia has attempted to clean up her public image. During an interview with The Sun, the former ring girl denied claims of toxic femininity in the villa while insisting she is “definitely not a villain.” However, since her exit from the villa, Olivia seems to have passed her villainous attitude to bombshell Samie Elishi.
Winter Love Island Fans Accuse Samie of Gaslighting Ron
It didn’t take long for another villain to emerge on the show after the recent dumping of Olivia alongside three other Islanders. Samie seems to have assumed the mantle after she got on the wrong side of fans and some of the other Islanders with her recent antics on the show. It all started when Ron Hall commented about how he perceived the show as a viewer while talking to Samie. He said:
“When I was a viewer… I thought, the ones who have their drama nice and early and then get comfy and treat it like a holiday, they’re the ones who are probably like, they just cruise.”
Samie believed Ron had just let slip his game plan and went on to tell Tom and the other Islanders that Ron had been on a game playing all along. Her revelation led to the Islanders targetting Ron, which didn’t sit well with him or his girlfriend, Lana. So, Ron decided to have clear-the-air talks with Samie, the source of the rumors. Despite Ron’s explanations, Samie refused to take responsibility for her actions and instead tried to manipulate the situation to paint herself as the victim. Many fans found the conversation challenging to watch and lashed out at Samie for gaslighting Ron. The viewers felt she was the one who started the whole thing and should have done better by apologizing rather than trying to turn the tables on Ron.
Winter Love Island Fans Think Samie Is Worse Than Olivia
As usual, the faceoff between Ron and Samie has got fans talking on social media, with some of the show’s viewers even starting a conversation about it on Reddit. Most of the show’s fans seem to agree with Samie’s status as a villain on the show, but there seems to be a little confusion on whether she is worse than Olivia. The fans took to the thread to give their thoughts, and many of them appeared to believe Samie was worse. One of the users wrote:
“I think Olivia played up to the cameras a lot, but Samie is really like that in real life. I wouldn’t want to be around either of them.”
Some fans tried to make a case for Olivia by arguing she was better than Samie because she always said things to people’s faces. It might not be right, but she was more direct. However, Samie tends to be a bit snakier in her approach. Almost all the drama in the villa can be traced back to Samie. She is constantly peddling rumors or reporting what someone has told her privately, and she always gets far away from the eventual fallout.
One particular user weighed into the conversation from another angle. The user described Olivia and Samie as opposite sides of the same coin while affirming that Samie only managed to get this far on the show despite her poor attitude because of how “conventionally attractive she is.” Despite the varying opinions on the topic, the consensus is that Samie is the newly crowned villain of the show. As a result, her pathway to the finals alongside her beau Tom has just been more sketchy.
