Winter Love Island Jessie Wynter is struggling to forgive partner Will Young after the latter’s misdeeds during Casa Amor. At some point during Winter Love Island 2023, it seemed like Will and Jessie were coasting to victory as the strongest and most likable couple in the villa. Unfortunately, the Casa Amor challenge knocked off the momentum they had gained earlier in the season. Will left Jessie heartbroken after she found out he had kissed Layla Al-Momani during Casa Amor. Since then, the Australian bombshell has found it hard to move past Will’s betrayal. At some point, their relationship seemed over, with Jessie refusing to speak to Will. However, Will managed to win her back during Sunday’s February 19 episode via a special surprise he planned with some help from other Islanders.
The farmer showed his romantic side by writing a poem detailing how he felt about Jessie. As the Islanders read the words from the poem, Jessie could not hold back her smile. The couple kissed and made up while Will confessed his undying love for the fitness trainer. However, the new week presented fresh challenges for the couple as Jessie’s doubts reemerged. On Wednesday’s episode, fans watched Jessie lay bare her feelings while revealing she struggled to move past his betrayal. And things only got worse when Will admitted he cut things off with Layla on day two of Casa Amor rather than day one as he previously suggested.
A disappointed Jessie responded:
“That’s a really big detail to miss off, that you didn’t call things off on the first night but the second night.”
She continued:
“I feel like, Will, there are these tiny details you keep missing out… Those tiny details are what’s chipping away at my trust issues.”
Jessie Believed in Will
Winter Love Island Fans have been following the drama between Will and Jessie in the aftermath of Casa Amor and recently started a conversation on Reddit to air their thoughts. While commenting on the thread, many of the show’s viewers tried to make sense of why Jessie has found it challenging to move past Will’s betrayal during Casa Amor. Most fans felt Jessie genuinely believed in Will and never expected such a thing from him. They backed up their claims by pointing out how she had previously said Will was different from all the guys she dated in the past and wanted a future with him. Some other users highlighted the close bond the two shared and argued that it was normal for Jessie to feel this way, given how much she had put into the relationship.
Will’s Transgressions Hurt Jessie
Ahead of her introduction into the villa, Jessie was very vocal about her desire to find love and willingness to settle down. And going into the villa, she saw Will as someone she could potentially build a future with. Many fans commenting on the thread believe Jessie already anticipated a fairytale ending, but Will’s Casa Amor antics shook her back to a painful reality. They argued that Jessie may have ended things with Will if they were not stuck in the villa together. The users went further to slam Will for being “immature” and acting like a “horny teenager” in Casa Amor. However, some also tried to defend him by pointing out that his actions were not with malicious intent.
Jessie Felt Forced To Take Will Back
As the conversation progressed on Reddit, many users shifted their focus to the surprise poem presentation Will used to win Jessie back. While many agreed it was a sweet gesture, they feel it may have pressured her into accepting him back when she was not ready. One of the users wrote:
“I’ve been saying this! I think she wanted to take him back but what if she hadn’t wanted to? Is she going to go against apparently the whole villa’s wishes in front of them all and awkwardly say no to Will? It’s pretty much impossible for her.”
Another fan agreed:
“I actually think it’s quite obvious she missed him a lot but she definitely didn’t want to forgive him and was not over what happened yet and this was so unfair to force her into that position.”
Most of the show’s viewers believe Jessie is still processing the whole thing, and it may take some time for her to get over the hurt. Sadly, many Winter Love Island fans fear Jessie may never genuinely trust Will again.
