Chucklefish, the studio behind great titles like Wargroove and Starbound, has revealed more information about their next game. The title is known as Witchbrook and is a magical school simulator similar to the style of Harry Potter. The game has no planned release date or platforms to release on, but those will likely be shown off at a later date. The information was officially shown on Chucklefish’s Twitter account through a set of new screenshots.
Witchbrook, at its heart, is a game about being a student at a magical school. While there, you’ll study and learn new forms of magic, along with brew all sorts of potions to become a masterful wizard or witch. Outside of the magical school, though, you’ll be able to visit the surrounding town and your home. You’ll even get to manage your little farm using your newly found skills. The whole experience is almost a mashup of Stardew Valley and Harry Potter, which should make for some interesting gameplay. What sort of friends or foes will you make? Which secrets magic will you utilize? What mysteries will you uncover? You’ll get to answer these questions and more when Witchbrook officially releases.
Witchbrook is the third game developed by publisher Chucklefish, following the Wargroove mentioned above and Starbound. Overall the team has had a solid track record thus far and only seems to be going up with the premise of Witchbrook. We’re excited to see what they get up to next, and will be sure to keep you posted. If you’re interested in the games they’ve published rather than developed; they’ve helped put out some great titles. These include the infamous Stardew Valley (or at least used to) and the upcoming RPG Eastward. You can find their full lineup here.
