The short teaser (also shown in the tweet above) shows off a little bit of everything in this ever-expanding Witcher franchise. Beyond more news on The Witcher Netflix show, there is also a chance to hear about projects currently being developed like Blood Origins; which is a 6 part, live-action prequel that will cover the Witcher origins and the very first Witcher. Logline for those interested:
“1200 years before Geralt of Rivia, the worlds of monsters, men and elves merged into one, and the first Witcher came to be.”
Brief and to the point, my kind of logline. Nightmare of the Wolf is another Witcher-centric project which revolves around Geralt’s mentor and fellow witcher Vesemir. Unlike Blood Origins, this one will be an animated feature.
And for those salivating for the next season of The Witcher, here is a season 2 breakdown:
“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
The WitcherCon event will stream live on YouTube and Twitch on July 9. Which Witcher production are you most excited for? Let us know!
