Mobile developers porting their games to the Nintendo Switch isn’t unheard of, as the amount of shovelware being released on the platform is, needless to say, a lot. However, some dev teams, few and far between, go the extra mile and deliver a more polished version of their game, providing Switch users will the quality they deserve. WitchSpring3 Re:Fine is one such upcoming title where developer Kiwiwalks has done its best in recreating the game’s magical mobile RPG experience for the Switch. The game will be releasing in Q3 of this year, with its various collector’s editions available for pre-order.
WitchSpring3 Re:Fine takes place in an enchanting Misty Forest, where Eirudy the witch hides from the witch hunters who are out for her blood. Living a solitary life in the wilderness can be quite lonely, so she decides to surround herself with magical puppets that keep her company and support her in combat. However, everything changes when she meets an adventurous young man named Adrian in the forest, and a new journey will begin for her and her new companion.
If you’re unfamiliar with the mobile WitchSpring series, they all play out relatively the same. You play as a cute witch who must go about doing various tasks each day to increase your stats. There’s training, item and spell crafting, and much more. Like your typical RPG, enemies will spawn in fixed locations every day. Leveling up will give the strength needed to take down more difficult enemies that block the way to new areas. Through this reoccurring gameplay loop, you’ll occasionally unlock new abilities, meet new charming characters, and progress the story.
While the WitchSpring visuals and UI are rather mediocre and unpolished, the casual gameplay is notably enjoyable. The decent controls with auto-shooting make the game a perfect experience for gamers who prefer more casual RPGs. WitchSpring3 Re:Fine should be an excellent entry to the series, and hopefully, in the future, the rest of the titles can also come to Switch, including other platforms.
Have you heard of the WitchSpring series, or are you a fan of other mobile franchises? Which mobile games do you wish to see ported to Switch someday in the future? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
