I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again, there is definitely a time and place for everything. In many cases, that time and place is not a full airplane going hundreds of miles per hour while in the sky. It seems that this wasn’t exactly the thought process that one woman had when she opened her carbonated drink on a full flight. It’s a good thing she recorded the situation herself and had it reposted to Reddit.
The video depicts a woman and her row of passengers on a plane. You can tell that the plane is midair because all of the lights have been turned down. Closest to the camera, a woman holds a bottle of some kind of champagne in her hand. For some reason, she decides that right now is the best time to take a drink from it. You can see that she unscrews the top part and then, with that piece now gone, the cork immediately pops out.
Considering that champagne is known for being bubbly, the carbonation caused it to rupture, spraying all over themselves and the people around them on the flight. Let me tell you how I immediately got second-hand embarrassment after watching the clip. It seems that just about everyone else who watched it felt the same, because the replies were filled with comments. One person was a little bit more concerned for the people sitting directly in front of those passengers, saying,
“Bet it’s super hilarious for the person sitting in front of her. So quirky and fun”
From my understanding, the issue isn’t big enough to warrant the passengers being put on a no-fly list. However, I do believe that there is a fine that must be paid to the airline should a situation like this arise. Regardless, let’s hope we don’t see the same woman trying to do that same thing on another flight.
