WWE 2K20 has officially released, and it hasn’t exactly been a smooth one so far.
Early screenshots of the game that released mere weeks before the game itself launched were met with harsh criticism. This was due to the revelation that the game had taken a major downgrade in graphics compared to past installments.
A downgrade in graphics hasn’t been the only problem players have encountered. A thread on Reddit has been listing many issues, including problems with multiplayer matchmaking (that was promised to have been fixed with a day one patch). There have even been issues coming up that the collector’s edition, that was supposed to include an autographed plaque from WWE Hall of Famer Edge, have been arriving with no signature.

Fans have let their displeasure with the rocky launch be known with #fixWWE2k20 trending on Twitter on Tuesday. Many fans are letting 2K Games know that this is unacceptable for a $60+ game on launch day. Most WWE 2K games aren’t strangers to some weird issues, those were minor and even entertaining in their own right. However, the bugs plaguing this launch have been happening to everyone who spent money on a copy of this game.
It should be noted that Visual Concepts took over development on the game after longtime developer Yuke’s left the series. Here’s what 2K Games told IGN regarding this change back in August:
“WWE 2K20 will be developed by Visual Concepts, who have worked with Yuke’s on the development of the series since WWE 2K14. As we’ve continued to invest in the WWE 2K franchise, we’ve seen the Visual Concepts team display incredible passion, talent and commitment to the future of the series. We thank Yuke’s for their years of partnership and are excited to see what the Visual Concepts team brings to the franchise moving forward.”
Many players have mentioned that there are several things missing that were promised and hopefully 2K Games will be able to address these issues before it’s too late.
