Xbox 360 was released in 2005, almost 17 years ago. A lot of things have changed since then; today, technology brings us other worlds, and reality is getting closer to the real world. But surprisingly, one thing didn’t change; Xbox 360 games are still selling on Microsoft Store. You could literally buy the games of the Xbox Series X and Xbox 360 games at the same digital store. It’s crazy but also good for accessibility. Unfortunately, Microsoft will remove this. The company has announced they’re planning to shut down the digital store for Xbox 360 and shared how long you’ll keep buying games.
Digital games aren’t the technology of the Xbox 360s, but they exist. Physical copies are the popular way to buy games, and it had the advantage of trading games. Xb0x 360s also don’t have an SSD and an ethernet port with today’s standards. But if you’re still using an Xbox 360, and buying games digitally, then you better hurry up.
Xbox 360 Store Will Be Closing Soon
Microsoft still allows you to buy digital games until May 2023. The same thing also works for the DLCs. The games are easy to find in their physical copies, but the DLCs are usually sold online. There weren’t so many DLCs in the 2000s, but if your favorite game has DLCs, there’s another reason to take your credit card and buy the stuff you’ll play in the future.
Sony was planning to do the same for PlayStation 3, but then they stepped down. The gaming consoles had a revolution in the past two generations, but some players are still happy with their 17-year-old consoles. Nostalgia hits differently, but the Xbox Series family has a backward compatibility feature, allowing you to play the games of past generations. If you’re planning to upgrade your console but also can’t get enough of your games, the new generation will welcome you.
