Xbox Cloud Gaming has been slowly making its way into the forefront of Xbox’s business plans, having recently become part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. Thanks to this, players around the world have been able to play their favorite games on the go, from the comfort of their (Android) phones alongside Xbox consoles. This plan has proven to be quite lucrative for the team, and today, they’re happy to announce an expansion on that very concept. Xbox Cloud Gaming is today making its way to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on Windows 10 PCs, alongside Apple phones and tablets (via browser) in 22 countries!
This is a big win for both fans and Xbox alike, as having the service available to those on even more devices should expand the service exponentially. In a blog post released on the official Xbox Wire page, the team detailed their reasoning for bringing Xbox Cloud Gaming to these platforms:
With billions of active Windows 10 PCs, iOS devices and Android phones, we want you to have new opportunities to play the deepest, most immersive games whenever and wherever you choose. Simply put, we’re bringing the Xbox experience directly to the devices you use most.”
If you’re one of the many already using Xbox Cloud Gaming on your favorite platform, you aren’t being left out of today’s move. Also in the news, the cloud service will now run on custom Xbox Series X hardware. This means that the framerates and beauty of the titles you fall in love with will be even better going forward! The team promises “the lowest latency, highest quality experience across the broadest set of devices” and streaming at “1080p and up to 60fps”.
This is a big day for Xbox and its fans alike, but we’d like to hear your thoughts. Will you be trying out Xbox Cloud Gaming on PC or Apple devices? What are your thoughts on the current Xbox Cloud Gaming catalog? Let us know!
