After announcing the remake back in April, Microids has officially announced that their remake for XIII, a cult classic FPS is known for its cel-shading, has been delayed until 2020.
François Coulon, the Head of Production at Microïds, made a comment about the delay:
We are thrilled with PlayMagic’s work so far. This additional development time is needed to reach the level of polish we’re aiming for. The announcement was greeted by an overwhelming response from the community and we’ll make sure to deliver the best possible game to our fans.
XIII was originally released in 2003, and fans couldn’t get enough of its unique look and compelling story. “Play as the famous Thirteen, accused of assassinating the President of the United States. You’ll wake up injured and suffering from amnesia on Brighton beach; the only clues to your past will be a small key and a mysterious tattoo of the Roman numerals XIII on your collarbone.” With a plethora of weapons at your disposal, you’ll have over 30 levels of fast-paced fun to learn the secrets of Thirteen’s mysterious past.
A release window within 2020 has not yet been announced for XIII, but we do know that it will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Are you looking forward to the remake?
