Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice had a lot of problems. Thereās no denying that. It also had a lot of questions to answer. One of which was the Robin suit hung up in the Batcave during the events of the film with the words āHAHAH JOKEāS ON YOU BATMANā painted on the torso.
So, which Robin died?
Many fans (including myself) assumed that it was Jason Todd AKA the second boy wonder. Todd was famously killed off by The Joker in the Death in the Family comic arc and eventually returned as the murderous Red Hood. As this new vigilante, Todd sought out to get revenge on The Joker and Batman. Red Hood would eventually develop into an antihero, thus becoming a Punisher type of character in the Bat-family.
Well, if you thought that sounded like a dead-ringer someone in Snyderās version of the DC universe, you would be completely wrong.
The Man of Steel and BvS director has confirmed (via social media platform Vero) that the dead Robin was intended to be Dick Grayson AKA the first (and most famous) iteration of the character. You can see a tweet from ComicBook Debate screenshotting the conversation down below:

Luckily, it seems that Warner Bros. and the heads of the DCEU had something different in mind seeing as Chris McKay (Lego Batman) is set to direct a Nightwing solo film in the near future.
So that means that Snyder planned to use Jason as Robin for future DCEU movies, right?
Nope. It was also confirmed that Zack Snyder planned to use Carrie Kelley as the DCEUās future Robin. Kelley was first introduced in Frank Millerās The Dark Knight Returns comic in 1986, taking up the mantle of Robin during the story.

This makes sense considering how much Snyder took from Millerās The Dark Knight Returns when developing BvS. Like I mentioned before, none of this information is expected to happen on the big screen now as the DCEU is moving away from Snyderās vision for the universe.
Which Robin would you have chosen to bite the dust in the DCEU? Are you glad that they didnāt go forward with Snyderās plan? Let us know in the comments and be sure to follow us here at The Nerd Stash for all of your nerdy news and needs!
