Euphoria: A Compelling Drama Series For Mature Audiences
Euphoria premiered on HBO Max in 2019 and has Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Barbie Ferreira, Jacob Elordi, and Storm Reid amongst its star-studded cast. Since its premiere, Euphoria has received numerous accolades for its stunning cinematography, original music composition (British musician Labrinth composes the soundtrack for the series), and compelling character portrayal, which earned the actress Zendaya her first Emmy win for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Euphoria is made famous for tackling complex interpersonal relationships amongst a group of modern-day high school students as they battle issues with drugs, sex, toxic co-dependent relationships, and violence. Euphoria is a compelling television drama that delivers raw, unadulterated imagery of addiction, peer pressure, domestic violence, teen sexual relationships, and alcoholism which may be sensitive topics for some viewers.
During the season 2 premiere of Euphoria, HBO Max released the following advisory statement “the following episode contains violence, nudity, and sexual content that may be disturbing to viewers. Viewer discretion advised.” The HBO Max original series is meant for mature audiences only and receives a certified MA rating due to depictions of violence, sex, nudity, adult language, and alcohol and drug use. Viewers are advised to proceed with caution, as some of these issues may be triggering.
