Madden 24 was released earlier this week, and with it comes the unveiling of the overall player ratings. Everyone from gamers to players alike loves tuning in to see who their favorite players are and, in some cases, how they themselves are rated. Without fail, year after year, the ratings will always be a point of contention. As you go further down the list, you might be surprised at how things shake out with the Madden 24 quarterback ratings.
Quarterbacks are usually the one rating group that everyone can at least agree on when it comes to the best of the bunch. For example, if you followed the NFL last year at all or even just tuned into the Super Bowl, you won’t be the least surprised to see who tops this year’s list.
Which Quarterbacks Top the Madden 24 Player Ratings?
While the top of the list has some of the usual suspects year to year, the lower half features some new faces that splashed onto the scene last year. Some of our cast here only has a few years in the league, while others have been around the block and then some.
10. Tua Tagavailoa- 83 Overall
Although he wasn’t able to make it through the entire season healthy, Tua certainly blew away his previous underwhelming seasons with a dominant showing at times throughout the 2022 NFL season. Tua put up 25 touchdowns to 8 interceptions in the 13 games he played and helped both Tyreke Hill and Jalen Waddle shatter the 1000-yard mark on the year. He suffered multiple concussions in the process, which led to questions about his future in the league, but he has decided to power through and looks to build on the promising results he achieved last year.
9. Kirk Cousins- 84 Overall
Cousins has been one of the most underappreciated quarterbacks of the last decade. Whether it’s because of his persona or less-than-flashy style on the field, year after year, this guy puts up impressive numbers and gets no respect in the process. It doesn’t hurt that he has had elite weapons like Stephon Diggs and, currently, the league’s best receiver, Justin Jefferson, by his side, but regardless, he remains a steady force at the quarterback position. Although the Vikings faltered in the playoffs last year, it was no fault of his own as he put up an impressive performance with two touchdowns and no interceptions. With a solid 84 overall player rating in Madden 24, the Vikings will look to Cousins to continue his confident play this season.
8. Aaron Rodgers- 86 Overall
Some might not love Rodgers’ place here, but his 2022 season was a definite letdown after his unreal 2020-2021 seasons. Rodgers was a back-to-back MVP in those years, but last season, he lost one of the best receivers in the league Davante Adams, and his performance reflected that loss. Now, on a new team in the New York Jets, surrounded by weapons including the promising young receiver Garrett Wilson and flanked by his favorite targets from Green Bay like Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard, Rodgers is looking to bring the Jets to the playoffs in one of the toughest divisions in football.
7. Dak Prescott- 87 Overall
Dak didn’t end the 2022 season on the best note, executing one of the most atrocious-looking final plays of a playoff game in recent memory, but that’s not enough to keep him from an impressive Madden rating this year. Although his interceptions were up in 2022, Dak had moments where he looked like the best QB in the league, none the least being an incredible first-round performance in the playoffs against the Tampa Buccaneers, where he totaled four touchdowns and 300 yards in the process. He has vowed to cut down interceptions this season, so we will see if he can back up his words and his Madden 24 player rating.
6. Justin Herbert- 87 Overall
Justin Herbert took a brutal shot to the ribs early in the 2022 season and managed to play through it the rest of the season. The result was Herbert being a bit less effective than he was his previous two seasons and falling short in the playoffs against a historic comeback by the Jacksonville Jaguars. That doesn’t discount the numbers Herbert put together, however, as he still threw for an impressive 4700 yards and 25 touchdowns to 10 interceptions regular season. People see Herbert as a future MVP one day. Surrounded by talent at receiver and running back, the 2023 season might be his time to shine.
5. Jalen Hurts- 88 Overall
Oh, so close. Hurts was one drive away from immortality against the force of nature that is the Kansas City Chiefs and fell just short against the future hall of famer Patrick Mahomes. He performed admirably in the Super Bowl and had one of the best regular seasons for a quarterback in Philadelphia Eagles history. The season came as a shock as Hurts had a modest first few years in the league, but his work ethic, combined with an impressive array of weapons in A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith, and Dallas Goddaert, led him to nearly winning the MVP. With a Madden 24 player rating of 88, he’s going to be a force to play with, and if he stays healthy this year, he can challenge for that MVP once again.
4. Lamar Jackson- 91 Overall
Lamar Jackson has had a tumultuous past few seasons with injuries and unhappiness with the Baltimore Ravens, but that doesn’t stop him from still being considered one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. Now with a life-changing contract at his back and, finally, an impressive array of weapons in Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman, and the newly acquired Odell Beckham Jr., a healthy Jackson is primed to return to MVP form this coming season.
3. Josh Allen- 94 Overall
It’s not often that the cover athlete isn’t the highest rated at his position, but the QB spot is loaded this year, and coming in at 3 is no slight on the incredible quarterback that Josh Allen is. Any other year, he would’ve been challenging for MVP in 2022, and his impressive season was only bolstered by the fact that the Buffalo Bills had next to no running game. He put up 42 total touchdowns and 5000 total yards, carrying the team literally at points. This season, the Bills have signed Damien Harris to carry some of the load, which could lead to Allen being fresher by year’s end. He still has Stephon Diggs at his side, and in Madden 24, he’ll be as dangerous as ever.
2. Joe Burrow – 95 Overall
As one of the toughest competitors in the league going into just his 4th year, Joe Burrow is ready to ascend to the league’s best. Supported by maybe the best receiving core in the league featuring Jamaar Chase and Tee Higgins, Burrow is ready to dominate this season. Having improved on his already impressive 2021 season, 2022 saw Burrow set career highs in touchdowns while limiting turnovers in the process. He’s among the most fun QBs in the league to watch with his incredible accuracy and bravado and might take the #1 crown next year.
1. Patrick Mahomes- 99 Overall
Was there ever any doubt? Mahomes came into the 2022 season sans his defense-shattering receiver in Tyreek Hill, but that didn’t slow him down one bit, capturing not only the MVP for the second time in his career but also his second Super Bowl ring. Mahomes did this with only Travis Kelce and a handful of journeyman receivers at his side. He is far and away the best quarterback in the league, and with the torrid start he’s had to his career, we may be looking at the greatest quarterback ever to play the game. This season, he loses yet another receiver in Juju Smith-Schuster and is still poised to be the best in the league again. Madden 24 has given him a perfect 99 rating, and it is well deserved.
Madden 24 is available now for all consoles and PC.
