Fortnite has more than 500 Gliders, but not all are easy to come by. Some Gliders are only available as rewards for completing difficult challenges or reaching high levels in the Battle Pass. Others were only released for a limited time and can no longer be purchased. You might not pay much attention to Gliders since they do not impact gameplay much. However, there are still some rare Gliders that players would love to get their hands on. So, we have selected the 10 rarest Gliders in Fortnite that you should have bought.
Frostwing
Frostwing Resembles an ice dragon and gives you a feeling like flying under a dragon. It is more similar to Lavawing, which resembles a fire dragon. It was part of the Harbinger Bundle released in 2018. The Glider appeared in the item shop almost every three months until February 2023. However, it has not been seen since.
Cuddle Cruiser
This Pink Teddybear-looking glider, as the name suggests, comes with matching skins. The Glider was introduced in Chapter 1, Season 8, in 2019 as part of the Cuddle Team Buddle. These Cuddle items were popular among players, and Cuddle Cruiser is no exception. This Glider also appeared in the item shop almost every month until January 2023 but has shared the same fate as Frostwing since then, becoming one of the rarest gliders in Fortnite.
Mello Rider
One of the most incredible things about the Mello Rider is that it plays Marsh Walk’s music tracks while you are gliding. Also, later, it received Roasty Rider style with the v19.01 update. It came with the Marshmello Bundle, one of the fan favorites then, and items were always in demand. However, Mello Rider has not appeared in the item shop since October 2022.
Diamond Pony
Diamond Pony was part of the Mayhem Set and was first released in April 2022. Even though it is called a pony, it has a horn like a unicorn and creates a rainbow when gliding. It is a colorful glider but was not very attractive when it was in the item shop. Maybe because the entire bundle wasn’t getting much attraction, but its aesthetic appearance attracted more players later. However, we hadn’t seen it in the item shop for around a year and a half.
Glow Wings
Ever wonder about what it would feel like if your Glider was a butterfly? Glow Wings gives you the same feeling since it resembles butterfly wings. Maybe this is why most players mention Glow Wings as one of their favorite gliders in relevant threads and simultaneously as one of the rarest gliders in Fortnite. However, Glow Wings was last seen on the item shop in December 2021, and the recent update shows no signs of it returning.
Dark Engine
Dark Engine was rewarded for completing Fortnitemares Challenges in 2018 and part of the Western Wilds Set. This dark-colored train engine gives you a vibe that you are ready for the ghost train ride. However, some of these challenges were difficult to complete, and many players did not obtain the Dark Engine.
Discovery
Discovery Glider was part of the Galaxy Set released in August 2018. Glider and skin both had a galaxy design to them, which was quite attractive at that time. But, to obtain Discovery Glider, you had to play three matches on either a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 or a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4. In that case, many players missed the opportunity to own this Glider since otherwise, they had to buy one of the devices to get it.
High Octane
Most John Wick fans were eager to have this Glider since it was inspired by John Wick’s car in the first film. However, like Discovery, this was also a reward for completing the Tier 100 battle pass challenges in Season 3. Therefore, if they didn’t have enough time to complete the challenge, High Octane became a lost dream for many, and it is also one of the rarest gliders in Fortnite.
Astroworld Cyclone
This was an Icon series glider and part of the Travis Scott Set. This Glider was inspired by the Texas Cyclone roller coaster ride from Six Flags AstroWorld. Also, it is a fan favorite and has become one of the top five to choose. However, the Glider was rewarded for attending Travis Scott’s Astronomical event and was not seen afterward. The event had some controversy, which might be why Epic Games has not brought it back.
Mako
Mako might be the most rarest Glider for most Fortnite players. It was released in 2017 and accidentally was on the item shop in January 2018. However, Mako was rewarded for reaching Level 25 in Chapter 1, Season 1. It does not have a unique appearance or any special features. That may be the reason players were not much interested in obtaining it at that time. But it is a rare, memorable item at the start of the game and will always be missed by players who could not level up quickly.
