Tammy Slaton is getting candid about the unglamorous side of achieving her weight loss goal. The TV personality and her sister Amy Slaton joined TLC’s 1000-LB Sisters in 2020, each embarking on a journey to drop the pounds. Finally, she achieved her desire, recently revealing that she has lost 500 lbs since 2022. Unfortunately, Tammy lost something more than just the weight.
In a new TikTok update, the reality star shared details about her journey. Sitting in a chair wearing black trousers and an olive green top, she revealed the reason why she began taking lots of pictures lately. “I take a lot of pictures. A lot of selfies. And I do not because I think I look good — Well, I do. A little bit — But mostly because I want to remember how big I was,” she explained. Tammy admitted that when she reflects on her past, she realizes how “huge” she was. “I would not be able to sit in this chair,” she remarked. However, now that things have changed she realized that her weight loss journey wasn’t completely positive.
“I think I was trying to be so focused on losing weight [that] I lost myself. I lost who I was and turned to alcohol instead of food.”
The 38-year-old then addressed how it “damaged” her and how it would be easy to fall back into her old pattern. However, this time she is determined to stay on the right track. “They say it’s a lifestyle change. It really is,” Tammy noted. “I had a lot of demons. Inner demons I had to fight. I’m still fighting. You are not alone.”

You are a beautiful soul,” one fan gushed, while another wrote, “I am so proud of you Tammy. You inspire me to be better ❤️Thank you ❤️.” A third heartwarming comment read:
“Tammy I’m so proud of you. Even your whole attitude changed after weight loss. You look so wonderful. I can’t wait for your show to come back on.”
Slaton first joined 1000-LB Sisters weighing 725 lbs. She then underwent gastric bypass surgery in September 2022 and has since kept fans regularly updated about her journey.
