Anything can happen on the road, but few are prepared for something as chaotic as the 11-car crash in Rochester, New York. For the unaware, not long ago, several individuals faced one of the most chaotic vehicular accidents in New York. While no one got hurt and there were no serious injuries, it still caused mayhem from anyone on the road, making this crash one of the biggest in the state.
While many might have already seen the news about this accident in New York, new footage is coming from a driver who had a dashcam at the time of the 11-car crash. User chops351 shared the clip on Reddit, where you can first see a couple of drivers talking on the side of the 590. Out of the blue, a couple of vehicles collide near them, followed by more vehicles that end up in an 11-car pileup.
As several sources have already reported, there were no serious injuries during the collision. The biggest one allegedly was a report of a mild neck injury, but nothing fatal. However, out of all the 11 vehicles involved in the accident, eight had to be towed away.
According to eyewitnesses and other reports, the pileup happened because the first driver stopped suddenly, which prompted the other vehicles to collide with each other.
New Yorkers Blame Irresponsible Drivers
After seeing this accident, several Redditors started shaming those behind the wheel, as they were the ones who caused the whole vehicular debacle.
“I just don’t understand why people don’t leave a bigger gap. You’re not going anywhere any quicker by being right up the arse of another car.“
“It doesn’t matter how good your brakes are; it’s the ones behind you that need to worry about.“
A few other users focused on the fact that this accident will be costly and a hassle for insurance companies.
“That’s a ton of paperwork. Bet it will get confused by insurance companies.”
“Oh man, that video is invaluable. For every car that was able to safely stop but was then rear-ended and pushed into the vehicle in front of them, it will save them thousands in deductible and future increased insurance payments.“
Ultimately, it is great that no one was hurt during this situation, but it just shows that the carelessness of some drivers can lead to some perilous situations.
