It only took A Way Out one month since its release to cross the million played milestone back in April. Now, after three months, the title has been played by two million people.

The news came earlier this week as apart of EA’s quarterly earnings call where CEO Andrew Wilson revealed that A Way Out has been played by 2.6 Million people between April and June. Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen added that the numbers outperformed the second quarter sales expectations for the Hazelight property.

While it isn’t an astronomical milestone in comparison to some games, it’s an important one, especially as an Electronic Arts game that isn’t centered around sports. Considering A Way Out requires two-player co-op (Splitscreen and Online), many figured the game would fail to live up to expectations.

As a result of these numbers, you can expect that EA and Hazelight are going to continue their relationship together, at least for the next unannounced titled by the developer, which goes into full production very soon. Hazelight director Josef Fares described their relationship with Electronic Arts as super good.

A Way Out is still currently available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
