TikTok user jeffrey_a_bear, aka Jeffrey from Tennessee, is the 49-year-old man in question, and he started off 2026 in the spotlight after he posted a video of himself introducing his new wife. “I married my friend’s daughter, she’s 27… and pregnant,” explains Jeffrey. Jeffrey himself has clarified on subsequent videos that he’s 49, and his 27-year-old wife is 37 weeks pregnant at the time of writing.
For many people, this age clarification was unnecessary since the age gap was no doubt big between the two, and one could even mistake Jeffrey as the 27-year-old woman’s father, something many commenters pointed out. One comment even questioned exactly how long their relationship had been going on, “How long was the friendship tho and were you friends 1st or with the daughter 1st?”
It’s not exactly the widest age gap between a couple, and there are certainly more shocking ones, especially in Hollywood (just ask Al Pacino), but people online are still freaking out over Jeffrey’s relationship. Despite the 22-year-old age gap, which for many is acceptable, some people can’t get over the fact that the 49-year-old man chose his friend’s daughter, as they assumed he witnessed her grow up from child to adult.
