To say things between 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) and Daphne Joy (real name Daphne Narvaez) have soured since they dated would be an understatement. The Candy Shop rapper has found himself facing serious allegations from Joy. She made a public statement on social media in March 2024 accusing him of physical abuse and rape. 50 Cent has now responded to the accusations referring to them as “false” and filing his own lawsuit.
50 Cent Responds To Daphne Joy’s Allegations
In the court documents, which were obtained by People, 50 Cent shared his side of the story. He defended himself against the damaging accusations. It is claimed that Narvaez made her statement in retaliation after Jackson filed for custody of their son. Her statements “falsely and publicly accuse Jackson of rape and physical abuse during their prior relationship, in a purposeful attempt to … destroy his personal and business reputation, harm Jackson’s commercial and business interests, negatively affect his custody case, and prevent him from seeing his minor son. Narvaez’s claims are false,” the documents read.
It is also alleged that Narvaez made her statement “out of sheer hatred and ill will toward Jackson.” This also allegedly resulted in a negative backlash for the rapper. His court documents claim Narvaez’s statement resulted in “extensive public ridicule, hatred and contempt.”
As for what the musician wants? He is reportedly seeking $1 million in monetary damages. His attorney, Reena Jain, also made a statement to People discussing the latest development between their client and Narvaez. They said, “Despite being given ample opportunity to retract a false and malicious retaliatory accusation, Ms. Narvaez has shamefully chosen to interfere with her 11-year-old son’s relationship with his loving father by falsely calling him a ‘rapist.'”
The case is still developing. It remains to be seen what the final outcome between 50 Cent and Daphne Joy will be.
