A video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) showing a law enforcement officer in Clark County, Nevada, handcuffing what appears to be a young girl has ignited an online firestorm, but some say the viral claim that the person is a 6-year-old immigrant is entirely false. The clip, shared by several high-engagement accounts including @ultras_antifaa, features a small individual in a puffy coat and boots with their hands cuffed behind their back as a police officer leads them toward a sheriff’s vehicle labeled Clark County, a county located in Nevada. Spanish text in the clip reads, “Detaining a dangerous immigrant, 6 years old,” Fueling outrage across the internet.

Within hours, the clip became a trending topic. Verified users flooded the comments, with some slamming law enforcement and others calling the video a dangerous fake. One user wrote, “Definitely need to cuff a 6 year old girl. Trump’s ICE police are sick MF’s”. While another chimed in, “This is America today. @DHSgov putting a six-year-old in handcuffs. Absolutely disgusting.”

Several journalists and social media users claimed the person in question was not actually a child. One, Rohin Hattiangadi, wrote, “Yes. This is fake news. The arrest was related to a DUI by her mom, and the handcuffing was protocol.”

Meanwhile, others pushed back hard. “NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW…,” the account declared. Another, under the handle @RibGoneRogue, insisted the footage was real, saying, “People said this was debunked months ago, but apparently not. They claimed it was a small woman but nope, Clark County confirmed it’s real. SIX YEARS OLD.

After digging deeper, The Nerd Stash couldn’t confirm if the person seen in the viral clip is the same 25-year-old from the previously reported incident or if this footage captures a different event altogether.

Viral Video of Alleged ‘6-Year-Old Immigrant’ in Nevada in Handcuffs Sparks Outrage

The controversy around the misleading video comes at a time when ICE raids have been ramping up across multiple U.S. cities, fueling fear and frustration in immigrant communities. Over the past several weeks, viral footage has shown late-night arrests and aggressive detainment tactics, scenes that many advocates describe as “traumatizing “for families and children caught in the middle.

Reports from Texas, Arizona, and California detail coordinated operations targeting undocumented individuals with prior deportation orders, though advocacy groups argue that many of those detained had no violent offenses. Social media has been flooded with clips showing confrontations between ICE agents and bystanders, some turning physical, sparking debates over due process, compassion, and the limits of federal authority.
