According to a video shared on Reddit, the incident showed the exact moment when a 76-year-old woman suddenly raised a flare gun and fired it at an elderly man. What happened next looked like something out of a slapstick brawl. The man, visibly stunned but unshaken, rushed forward and tackled the woman to the ground. The two tumbled awkwardly before he delivered what witnesses described as a light slap to her head, seemingly to stop her from continuing her outburst.
Authorities have since charged the woman with felony assault. Questions immediately arose over what would push someone her age to such an extreme act. Neighbors and friends claim the pair had been locked in bitter arguments for quite some time and tension had only been growing. One of the New York woman’s friends defended her, insisting she was terrified of the man. The New York man himself, who was later taken to the hospital for evaluation, rejected that explanation. He accused her of hating him for years and claimed she mocked and heckled him even after firing the flare. According to him, she hurled insults, called him a “demon,” and insisted he wanted to kill her.
