In July’s PlayStation Plus games Androids are, apparently, more favorable than soccer.

PlayStation Plus offers free PlayStation 4 games every month, but July saw some complications. One game got replaced a few days before the offer went live. Quantic Dream’s Detroit: Become Human replaced Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, the original offering.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 was announced as July’s free PlayStation Plus game alongside Horizon Chase Turbo last week, but it was swapped out in a seemingly last-minute decision.

In a statement sent to several game websites, Sony is unclear about their reasoning for this change.

“We have decided to make a change to the PS Plus lineup this month, and will be offering Detriot: Become Human Digital Deluxe Edition instead of Pro Evolution Soccer 2019. This was a decision we decided to make as a company and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Pro Evolution Soccer developers had nothing to do with the decision, according to a statement from a Konami spokesperson to Gamespot:

“This decision was made by Sony and so please make an inquiry to Sony.”

Now that everything is somewhat cleared up, PlayStation Plus subscribers can grab Horizon Chase Turbo and Detroit: Become Human Digital Deluxe version, which includes Heavy Rain, for free until August 5th, 2019.

Detroit: Become Human is a narrative experience where gameplay decisions affect the story’s outcome. The player follows three different androids as they struggle to function in a world that no longer wants them. The other free game, Horizon Chase Turbo, aims to resemble various 80s and 90s arcade racing games. It offers couch co-op and a blast of nostalgia for old school arcade gamers.

As for Pro Evolution Soccer 2019, gamers can buy it on the PlayStation Store for $29.99. Its successor, EFootball: PES 2020, is set to release for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on September 10th with a demo version planned to launch on July 30th. Online matches, offline matches, and edit mode are included in the demo.
