It’s amazing that no matter how many films starring the Dark Knight are made, they continue to receive immense hype – Matt Reeves’ The Batman included. In the case of this film, fans are even keeping a watchful eye on who Reeves is employing to bring Batman to life once again.

And without further ado, it has been revealed (via THR) that the next team member to be recruited for The Batman is Greig Fraser.

If that name isn’t familiar, then 43-year-old Fraser should be. He’s worked on such big-time Hollywood projects as 2016’s Rogue One and Lion, the latter for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Cinematography.

The Australian-born filmmaker has also worked alongside The Batman director before for his romantic-horror film, Let Me In back in 2010. This remake of the 2008 Swedish movie Let the Right One In won not only the respect of critics but also the author of the novel on which the two movies were originally based.

Fraser’s next credit will be on the 2020 science fiction movie Dune. Filming began March 18th this year at Budapest, Hungary and is also due to film in Jordan. Then his next project will be The Batman.

Matt Reeves’ Bat-movie has stirred as much hype as can be expected. The casting of Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman was a divisive one, with some loving the idea while others doubt his acting ability.

Meanwhile, Reeves revealed The Batman to be an original noir-style story, as opposed to another origin story adaptation. The film will only make small references to the greater DC Universe, with the central focus on Batman himself.

Previous Batmen to take up the mantle have been Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale and, most recently, Ben Affleck. In fact, the latter was originally set to direct, write and star in The Batman, with Deathstroke set to be a villain in the film.

But Affleck leaving the project has meant it has taken a different direction. Be prepared to see what this entails when the movie hits the silver screen on June 25, 2021.
