It’s a testament to the cultural impact of Friends that fans still yearn for a reunion to this day, after the final episode aired on May 2004.
But although no such thing is on the horizon, Fathom Events have the next best thing – special screenings of fan-favorite episodes in cinemas across the United States!
Yes, that’s right, boys and girls. As revealed by E! News, the Colorado-based Entertainment company is bringing Joey, Chandler, Rachel, Phoebe, Ross and Monica to the big screen in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Friends. What’s more, fans can expect some never-before-seen content including interviews and behind-the-scenes footage!
The Fathom Events website dutifully notes the episodes for these showings, all of which consist of four Friends episodes airing on three different nights from September 23rd to October 2nd.:
Pilot –ReDo, The One With The Black Out, The One With The Birth, The One Where Ross Finds Out
The One With The Prom Video, The One Where No One’s Ready, The One With The Morning After, The One With The Embryos
The One With Chandler In A Box, The One With Ross’s Wedding – Part 2, The One Where Everyone Finds Out, The One Where Ross Got High
The event will take place in more than a thousand theatres across the country, so a wide spectrum of Friends fans can join in the fun.
Lisa Gregorian, President and Chief Marketing Officer of Warner Bros. Television Group, said in a statement:
The cultural impact that Friends continues to have, 25 years after its premiere, is astounding, a true testament to the genius of Marta Kauffman, David Crane, Kevin Bright and the incredibly talented cast. It is so amazing to know that the series is still bringing people of all ages together. We could not be more excited to deliver these digitally remastered episodes to theaters — for the first time ever! — so that together, in a shared experience, our loyal fans can enjoy some of their favorite Friends scenes in a new way.
