However, Forbes is reporting that Bethesda has ruled out 7th gen versions.
“It is not coming to 360 and PS3, the stuff we’re doing will never work there,” according to Matt Grandstaff, Bethesda’s global community manager.
As far as visuals go, Pete Hines (Bethesda’s PR manager) insists that the game ‘looks amazing’. To be honest, people may be jumping the gun too early on judging Fallout 4. I know, people on the internet rushing to conclusions; crazy isn’t it?
In addition to being the very first footage we’ve seen of the game, it’s also a cinematic trailer. Those are great for getting a sense of the themes of the game and stirring up interest. However, they don’t give you any insight into what the game itself will be like. Even if that trailer was made using the game’s cutscene engine, that doesn’t give you any insight into what it’ll look like during gameplay. Remember all the fuss people made over Windwaker’s graphics? Now that game’s a classic.
Besides, that fact that Fallout 4 ‘wouldn’t work’ on PS3 or 360 sounds promising. They may be last gen but they’re still powerful consoles. The fact that they can’t even produce a lesser quality version for them suggest that Bethesda is being very ambitious.
