The new trailer to the hotly anticipated sequel to The Surge has dropped today and it looks absolutely brutal. The game’s iconic limb targeting mechanics are in its full gory glory. The Action RPG was made popular with its unique mechanic of upgrading your loadout and characters by targeting specific body parts and chopping them off to equip the special piece of equipment. The fast-paced combat paired with the split-second decision making is that set the last game apart from the others in the “Souls-Like” genre. As in the last game and it would appear this one, relying on you to make your own decisions on the best tactics to approach combat, do you want to be a deal fast damage and dodge attacks, or do you want to be a big hulking tank? The Choice is entirely yours to make, and don’t worry about being married to one choice, the way the first game was you can change your loadout no matter the situation.

The Surge 2 - You Are What You Kill Trailer | PS4

The Surge 2 steps away from the theme park from the first one and takes the nanomachines to the new setting of Jericho City, which has been overtaken by a mercenary group named The Hunters. The last trailer for Focus Home Interactive’s newest game showed off plenty of colossal bosses to go through and plenty of mercenaries to relieve of there armor and weapons.

The Surge 2 will drop September 24 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Pre-orders are already available, Pre-Order bonus’ will include the URBN gear pack which includes a new armor set, two weapons, and a load of other cosmetics and exclusives. From the looks of what we’ve seen so far The Surge 2 promises to be the new action RPG of the year.
