The Atelier franchise is an interesting one. In that, there have been over 20 games released in the main series, and I don’t know anyone who has actually played one. With that said, I did spend quite a bit of time with Atelier Rorona on the PlayStation 3. And I enjoyed every second of it. Three of my favorite things in JRPGs tend to be crafting, collecting, and grinding. And the Atelier games have these in spades. So, it shouldn’t be a surprise that I have been following Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, The newest entry in the series that just released today in Japan. It won’t reach us here in the West until next month. But that doesn’t mean developer Koei Tecmo doesn’t have new details to keep us full of anticipation.
For starters, pre-orders for Atelier Ryza are now available on Steam, the PlayStation Store, and the Nintendo eShop. Those looking for something more substantial might find interest in the Digital Deluxe Edition. This version includes 15 new clothing options, for the wardrobe enthusiast. But that’s not all. You’ll also get a couple of special items for remodeling your hideout. Lastly, you’ll have access to items that increase your movement speed and carrying capacity. Things that would probably make the early hours of Atelier Ryza a lot easier. Players who purchase either version of the game before November 12th will receive Ryza’s Summer Adventure costume. So there’s something for everyone.
Koei Tecmo also released a lot of new details about the Atelier Dusk Trilogy Deluxe Pack. A collection of older games in the series that is being released in January. But that goes beyond the subject of this post. Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout will be available in North America on October 29th. You can pick it up for PC, PlayStation 4, or Nintendo Switch. And it looks like it will retail for $59.99. With the Digital Deluxe Edition being $65.99.
