Jay and Silent Bob will soon head to the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The iconic duo will immortalize themselves and their handprints in the near future.

Jay and Silent Bob

Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes have been quite the duo since their sleeper hit Clerks hit theaters in the early ’90s. Jay and Silent Bob have already been cemented into pop culture. The pair should ultimately be cemented into history on the Walk of Fame.

Kevin Smith became an indie darling with the release of Clerks in 1994. He then followed it up with a popular series of films, including, Mall Rats, Chasing Amy, and Dogma. Smith’s career has seen his name attached to projects large and small. Jason Mewes has had a rocky path up to this point, battling drugs and demons along the way. Mewes hasn’t made much of dent in his solo character, however, when he teams up with Smith, it’s quite magical.

The duo appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for the purpose of promoting the upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot. Talking to Colbert, the two discussed their tour plans which lead up to its premiere.

“Something really magical happened to us,” he said. “On the day of the premiere, we get to go the to TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles and put our handprints in the cement. Me and Jay are bringing Jersey!”

Colbert, always the champion of New Jersey, played to the crowd’s enthusiasm at this announcement. He held up a picture of a young Kevin Smith who happened to be visiting the famous Hollywood theater.

“Years ago, in 1979, my whole family went to the Roman Chinese Theater courtyard. That’s me and my brother kneeling in front of R2D2 and C3PO’s footprints and stuff. And now, 40 years after that photo, like the R2D2 and C3PO of New Jersey are gonna be in the courtyard as well.”

Jay and Silent Bob have come a long way, just like their real-life counterparts. Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes are going to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and honor, they definitely deserve.
