Football is a big thing in these parts, as it is all over Europe, South America and many other places in the world. It seems to be catching on more in North America these days, but will never be as popular as the American version of football.
I won’t get into the whole soccer/football name debate. I’m well aware that American football gets its name from Rugby and that is England’s fault. The word Soccer also comes from England, so that’s our fault too.
I like both versions of football immensely, even if both of my teams are absolutely terrible at the moment. Stupid New York Giants and stupid Southampton.
Have you ever watched your favorite team, studied the coach and thought, I can do that better? Well now’s your chance with Football Manager 2020. If you’re from America and reading this, you may not have heard of the Football Manager series, over here it is extremely popular.
Football Manager is a soccer sim that allows you to take on the role of, you guessed it, the manager. You pick the teams, tactics, buy and sell players, and try to keep the media at bay as best you can. It’s a really deep game that can be very rewarding if you’re good at it. I am not.
This years’ iteration, Football Manager 2020, is due to release on November 19th with a Beta test starting on November 5th. The good news for fans though is that the Beta has been brought forward and is available now on PC and Mac.
Anyone who has purchased the game from a Sega approved retailer can log into Steam and give the game a try right now, this very second.
Developers Sports Interactive boldly state that this is the best version of the game to date, however, the Beta may have a few bugs in it despite being a near-complete version. Not that they would say any different of course.
Let us know in the comments if you’re a fan of Soccer or if you despise the beautiful game. Either way, it’s your opinion and you like what you like, I won’t judge.
If you are a fan, let us know if you plan to pick up this game when it launches later in the month.
