You could be waiting a little longer to see Disney+’s Hawkeye series.
According to an exclusive report from the website Murphy’s Multiverse, the series has been removed from the 2020 production schedule, despite production originally being slated for July.
Instead, the likes of Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and She-Hulk will be filmed ahead of Hawkeye. However, despite the sudden change in scheduling, the report insists that an indefinite delay does not necessarily mean it’s sayonara to the Jeremy Renner-led super-series.
In fact, the change in production could have been due to the set-up of the MCU as a whole. Perhaps Feige changed his mind as to what elements he wanted to include in other shows before Hawkeye.
However, it’s impossible not to recall the controversy surrounding Hawkeye himself, Jeremy Renner, in recent times. The 49-year-old actor, according to allegations, attempted to kill both himself and his ex-wife. While drunk and stoned at a club, Renner told someone that he “could not deal with her anymore, and he just wanted her gone.” Further reports indicate that he fired a gun off in their home.
Such allegations can be damaging to an actor’s career, particularly to one’s chances in a high-profile Marvel show. Renner has since countered by claiming his ex-wife is a dishonest, drug abuser after his money.
Jeremy Conrad of MCUCosmic suggests that the gossip dominating the web is what is delaying the show. He theorizes that once the chatter has died down, Hawkeye will kick back into production.
Meanwhile, others are saying that the producers are just waiting for actress Kate Bishop to free up her schedule to play the successor to the current Hawkeye.
