Product Information:
The ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO keyboard is a little large in size, especially with the magnetic wrist rest. This causes it to take up a little more desk space than some of the other gaming keyboards we have reviewed, however, I personally like wrist rests so this was okay with me.
There is an option to incline the keyboard at least one level depending on your preference.
The Vulcan is the first keyboard to feature ROCCAT-developed Titan Switches which resembles a Cherry MX Brown key. These switches provide a swift and precise keystroke with the ability to be tactile. This is something many gamers desire in a keyboard.
It also provides a silent 1.8mm actuation point with a 3.6mm travel distance. The noise level on the keys is not terrible for a mechanical keyboard being quieter than some I have reviewed. The keycaps are also very light for a rapid response
The cable is a nice, appropriate length and is attached which would make it more difficult to replace it. It is wired and has no wireless capabilities.
Additional Features:
Additional features on the keyboard include a mute button and a dial that is used to control the volume as well as the level of illumination. There are also hotkeys for media control. You also have the option for a game mode hotkey.
The software that is used to customize the settings is called ROCCAT Swarm. You do not need to create an account to use this software.
You can save up to four profiles on the keyboard and it does provide onboard memory. The profiles can be customized with keybindings, lighting effects, macros, and more. Sounds can be customized as well.
Getting the software set up could be easier, but overall, it wasn’t too difficult and it provided many options for customization.
Amazon Description:
Amazon had this to say about the keyboard:
Combine speed, durability and firepower with this ROCCAT Vulcan mechanical keyboard. Its electrical bounce time is no more than 4 ms for instant registration of commands, while half-weight keycaps return the individual keys back to their original position. Long-life LEDs illuminate this ROCCAT Vulcan mechanical keyboard in 16.8 million colors.
Pricing:
The ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard can be purchased for approximately $159.99 from Amazon, Best Buy and many other retailers.
Verdict:
The ROCCAT Vulcan 120 AIMO Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is a very nice, sleek keyboard with some new technology when it comes to key switches. The looks alone make it very enticing. The performance and the “feel” of the keyboard make it even better.
It is a very nicely built piece of equipment, however, it comes with a slightly larger price than I would want to pay very often. Even so, it is possible I would put forth the extra money if I was able to do so. A nice keyboard!
