Since its humble beginnings as a comic book in 2003, The Walking Dead has become a global phenomenon. There are now 3 TV shows in active development, Rick Grimes movies on the way and, well, I’m not going to list everything or I’ll be here all day. Let’s just say that The Walking Dead is pretty huge.

One thing I should mention though is the video games, more specifically I’m talking about the mobile game The Walking Dead: March To War. You may remember March To War from the countless adverts that were attached to the main show, I never actually got the chance to play the game before its conclusion but it is still permanently etched into my brain thanks to them.

The Walking Dead creator, Robert Kirkman hasn’t forgotten about it either, at least not according to a report from TMZ that states Kirkman’s company RK, LLC is suing the games’ developer, Disrupter Beam Inc for the sum of $690,000.

That figure is said to be for unpaid royalties from a deal struck back in 2014. The original agreement was stated to see Kirman receive $500,000 per year which would continue for 4 years after the game released. March To War hit mobile devices in August of 2017 and all was well, payments were being made and everyone was happy.

It’s alleged that payments continued until this month when Disrupter Beam allegedly stopped payments until further notice. The amount Kirkman is suing for is said to be $190,000 for the rest of this year and $500,000 for the entirety of 2021.

The Walking Dead may make more money than any of us could ever dream of but a deal is a deal and should be honored. Now if only Mr. Kirkman can see that I’ve stuck up for him and share some of this money with me we’ll be best friends forever.

The Walking Dead has been in the news recently for other reasons, with the Season 10 finale being delayed due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Thankfully, it sounds as if the episode is nearly finished and shouldn’t take too long to be released after the lockdown. Let us know in the comments if you’re looking forward to it or if the show is dead to you now.
