Borderlands developers Gearbox interactive have just announced a new exciting TV show based on their WW2 series of games Brothers in Arms. Scott Rosenbaum, a well-known showrunner with over 20 years in the entertainment industry, will also spearhead the planned TV adaption of Brothers In Arms. Here is everything we know so far about the Brothers in Arms Tv Series Adaption.

A Brave New WWII Venture

Brothers in Arms Tv Series Adaption.

The first season will apparently reveal the biggest secret of ww2 that was kept for well over forty years until now. The show’s main plot will revolve around a squad of eight soldiers on a mission to recuse a captured colonel and prevent the German Army from discovering the plans of the D-Day Invasion. The show will explore both sides of the war and feature characters based on those who endured the horrors of the second world war. Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox, will serve as executive producer along with series showrunner Scott Rosenbaum. The show, however, is still in the infancy of production, and a director and broadcast partner has not been found yet. Here is what Mr. Pictford had to say about Scott Rosenbaum.

“Scott is an incredible talent. I have tremendous respect for him as a writer and a showrunner and am thrilled for him to be a part of this project,” said Gearbox Entertainment Company co-founder and series producer Randy Pitchford. “Scott will create more than a war show – we’ll all be on the edge of our seats as this series will be a surprising and heartfelt emotional journey that resonates across generations with brotherhood as the theme that reconciles and connects humanity.”

“I’m honored to be joining the frontlines of this project and look forward to creating an emotional experience around a title that means so much to the Gearbox community,” said Rosenbaum. “What attracted me to this series was that while it’s effectively a show about war, the series is really about the incredible stories of the ordinary men and women, from the soldiers, resistance groups, to local civilians who are confronted and overcame impossibly difficult, extraordinary situations. In addition, it’s incredibly exciting to be able to bring these previously classified, unknown stories to an audience, stories that an audience is going to be quite frankly shocked they hadn’t heard before.”

“We wanted to look at WWII storytelling from a new angle in order to touch a wide audience with themes like discrimination, the power of women having to choose between their family and their values, and how young adults can cope with the unprecedented situation they were not prepared to face,” said Jean-Julien Baronnet, Brothers in Arms series executive producer.

About the Brothers In Arms Games

Brothers in Arms TV Series Adaption.

There are a total of three games in the main series and several spin-off titles, including a spin-off series. The Brothers In Arms games were also based on true events and previously classified WWII stories. It has been over six years since the last game in the series came out; Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War in 2014 being the last and Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 in 2005 being the first.  All games in the series were traditional FPS with some elements of strategy; however, later, mobile phone releases eventually deviated from the FPS formula. The Brothers In Arms games have also maintained steady positive reviews since their initial inception.

So what do you think about this new exciting Brother in Arms show? I, for one, am excited because it reminds me of The Band of Brothers TV series. Please share your thoughts in the comments below and as well share the news!
