The Snyder Cut, director Zack Snyder’s version of Justice League, is set to come to HBO Max in 2021.

Warner Bros. Pictures and HBO are teaming up to make the dreams of DC fans all over the world come true. After pressure from the monumental and unified #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement, The Snyder Cut of Justice League will be available to stream next year.

Justice League is DC’s version of The Avengers, but the film did not share the same success. The film got slammed by critics, although it did find some success with audiences.  Regardless, people wanted to see what the film could have been had Zack Snyder stayed on as director throughout the entire project. Snyder worked on the film for much of its production but left towards the end due to the death of his daughter. Joss Whedon took over as director and finished the film, although he cut some of Snyder’s ideas.

Release The Snyder Cut

It didn’t take long after the release of Justice League for fans to cry out for The Snyder Cut. The movement grew and grew; even the stars of Justice League joined in. But even with all this demand, it didn’t seem like Warner Bros. was going to release the Snyder Cut.

Well, they certainly changed their tune. “The fans have asked, and we are thrilled to finally deliver. At the end of the day, it really is all about them and we are beyond excited to be able to release Zack’s ultimate vision for this film in 2021,” said Robert Greenblatt, Chairman of Warner Media Entertainment and Direct-To-Consumer.

Snyder seems pretty happy too, saying “I want to thank HBO Max and Warner Brothers for this brave gesture of supporting artists and allowing their true visions to be realized. Also a special thank you to all of those involved in the SnyderCut movement for making this a reality.”

HBO Max will require a subscription. The platform will be $15 a month, but that’s a small price to pay for what is supposed to be a very different version of Justice League.

While you wait for the Snyder Cut, you can see Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters this August.
