Microsoft has announced plans today for a streamed Xbox Series X event on July 23rd that will show off upcoming titles from its first-party Xbox Game Studios. Some of the games we can expect to learn more about at the event include Halo: Infinite, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, and Rare’s Everwild. The streamed Xbox Series X event itself is to begin at 9 AM PDT or 12 PM EDT. A Summer Game Fest pre-show will start an hour beforehand and will be hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Games At the Xbox Series X Event

While Halo: Infinite is an obvious front runner in terms of games people are excited to see going into the event, there’s the potential for a few dark horse series to make an appearance. Twitter account placeholders were recently found for both Fable and Perfect Dark, series Microsoft owns the rights to but hasn’t done anything with in a while. Rare last year also unveiled Everwild with an announcement trailer, so we can hope to hear more about it later this month.

EVERWILD - X019 - Announce Trailer

We may even hear more from Double Fine Studios, which Microsoft acquired last year, about the upcoming Psychonauts 2. It will also release on competing platforms. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II was announced last December for Xbox Series X, so expect to hear more from Ninja Theory.

The announcements to be made at the streamed Xbox Series X event likely would have been made at Microsoft’s pre-E3 press conference last month, had E3 not been canceled due to COVID-19. Instead, we have to wait a few more weeks to see more of the most exciting part of a new console launch, the games.

Hopefully, the wait is worth it. What games are you most excited to hear about at the event later this month? Let me know in the comments if there are any other series you’re hoping will make an appearance.
