Like a children’s bedtime story, the new trailer for the upcoming Fable game is short and sweet. The long awaited announcement was finally revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase. Blink and you’ll miss the one minute teaser trailer for Fable. This Fable appears to be a new take on the genre that began in 2005 if details on the YouTube video are to be believed:

Your story’s not over. Hope you’ve got a pen on you, preferably one made out of a feather. #Fable is coming exclusive to the Xbox Series X and Windows 10 PCs.

Fable returns with a new beginning for the legendary franchise. Explore a land of fantastical creatures and wondrous places. Developed by Playground Games for Xbox Series X and Windows 10.”

The video starts with a fairy flitting about over flowers and fauna while the narrator describes the setting:

The world is filled with stories. Legendary heroes and treacherous villains. Of fantastical creatures and wondrous places. Where nature and magic live in perfect harmony. Not all stories have happy endings. But yours, is yet to be written.”

In typical Fable fashion the trailer ends with a comedic moment with the fairy being eaten by a large frog. The games tend to blend satire and comedy with their serious stories. It’s been 10 years since the release of Fable 3 and fans have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of a sequel. Although, it is unclear if Fable for the Xbox Series X is a continuation or a brand new story. The game is being developed by Playground Games.

There is also no release date for Fable as of yet but it will release for the Xbox Series X and PC.
