The widely popular video game-focused G4TV Network might be making a comeback soon. Just today, the official Twitter accounts of G4 (@G4TV), X-Play (@xplay), and Attack of the Show (@aots) all posted a minute-long teaser that suggesting their return next year in 2021.

Aside from that teaser trailer though, G4TV hasn’t said anything else in their official capacity. But according to Esports consultant and insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau, this new G4TV Network is going to be led by Spectacor Gaming President Tucker Roberts and will be “based and focused on the web, not TV“. It’s still unclear whether this new network will partner up with online video services like YouTube or Twitch or instead with streaming platforms such as Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon.

Spectacor Gaming first launched in 2018. It oversees Comcast‘s various esports organizations including Overwatch League’s Philadelphia Fusion, T1, and T1 League of Legends (a joint venture with South Korean wireless operator SK Telecom). While Tucker Roberts himself is also the son of Comcast CEO Brian Roberts.

Previous hosts of G4TV’s shows express their excitement and surprise to the video teaser. Kevin Pereira, former Attack of the Show co-host, tweeted that he was “very interested” and mentioned Olivia Munn, a fellow ex-co-worker on Attack of the Show.

Something is about to happen. I know a lot of things happen, all the time, but this particular something is pretty interesting.

Well, it’s specifically interesting.

I’m VERY interested. You may be as well.

Meanwhile former X-Play co-host Adam Sessler tweeted that he never expected to see the X-Play Twitter account again. Another former X-Play co-host Morgan Webb jokingly said she was “impressed” that someone still remembered the password to the Twitter account that made the announcement.

Under the ownership of Comcast, G4TV Network first launched on April 24, 2002. And after running for 12 years long it finally ceased its activity on December 31, 2014.
