If one thing has become a huge part of the DC Universe, it’s the iconic ‘#ReleaseTheSnyderCut’. Fans have been begging DC and Zack Snyder to create and release the cut, giving fans a look at how he would’ve formulated the movie. Today, the prayers of fans have finally been answered. At the DC FanDome digital convention today, director Zack Snyder gave an extended first look at the upcoming Snyder Cut for Justice League. The teaser shows off a dark tone for Justice League, much different than that of the original film. It also gives a closer look at the villain Darkseid, something the original failed to do. We can expect to see a lot more once the Snyder Cut releases. Zack Snyder, the director in question, had the following to say of the release and the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement:
It’s been an incredible journey. For us, one of the amazing parts is that we were able to interact with and be part of this fan community in an amazing way. It’s changed us and made us really grateful for being able to have this dialogue.”
The release is going to be a little unusual. Snyder says that the Snyder Cut will release on HBO Max in 2021 in four different, one-hour segments. Viewers will also have the option to view the full movie as a four-hour, uncut film. While it may seem restrictive to stick it to HBO Max, Snyder said that a “distribution plan” is in the works to bring the film to areas outside of the streaming service. Regardless, this is big news for any fan of DC and Justice League. They’ve been campaigning for the release of the Snyder Cut since the release of the original film, so it’s good they’re finally getting their wish.
