Fans ofย The Haunting of Hill Houseย have been eagerly waiting for another horrific story full of emotion, scared and well-written storytelling. They won’t have to wait much longer! Along with a short teaser trailer, Netflix has announced that The Haunting of Bly Manorย will release this October.
While the first season took its inspiration from Shirley Jackson’s novella, The Haunting of Hill House, The Haunting of Bly Manorย takes it inspiration from the works of Henry James; Bly Manor is the setting of one of his most popular works, The Turn of the Screw. Here is the synopsis from Netflix:
From The Haunting of Hill House creator Mike Flanagan and producer Trevor Macy comes The Haunting of Bly Manor, the next highly anticipated chapter of The Haunting anthology series, set in 1980s England. After an au pairโs tragic death, Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hires a young American nanny (Victoria Pedretti) to care for his orphaned niece and nephew (Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) who reside at Bly Manor with the estateโs chef Owen (Rahul Kohli), groundskeeper Jamie (Amelia Eve) and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose (TโNia Miller). But all is not as it seems at the manor, and centuries of dark secrets of love and loss are waiting to be unearthed in this chilling gothic romance. At Bly Manor, dead doesnโt mean gone.
