Xbox Series X Launch Titles

Even if Master Chief will be a no-show when Xbox Series X launches on November 10, 2020, Microsoft’s next-generation console will still be powered by many ambitious blockbuster, cross-generation games. Joining several new releases such as Yakuza: Like a Dragon and The Medium, three more titles have just been confirmed Xbox Series X launch title line-up. Let’s see what those games are.

Gears Tactics

Gears Tactics Launch Trailer

The Coalition, the developer of the Gears series after Microsoft bought the IP, briefly mentioned that their latest title, Gears Tactics, will be available on Xbox One and Xbox Series X when the console is launched into the market on November 10th. The game was previously released on PC on April 28, 2020. As its name stands, instead of your usual third-person shooting action fare, Gears Tactics put an XCOM-like strategy twist to the franchise. It’s a well-done spin-off that I’m hoping will see huge success when it re-releases on Series X later this year.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - 30 Minutes of Gameplay | Ubisoft Forward

After fans’ disappointment from a gameplay trailer lacking in gameplay and some footage leaks, Ubisoft is finally ready to unveil Valhalla‘s release date. On Twitter, the official Assassin’s Creed account announced that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is prepared to launch with Xbox Series X and Series S on November 10, 2020. If you buy it for Xbox One, you can upgrade to the Series X and S versions at “no additional cost.”

Although there’s no official confirmation whether or not Valhalla will be getting a free upgrade on PlayStation 5, Ubisoft’s support page used to list that “supported PlayStation 4 titles” will be backward compatible with PlayStation 5. It can be assumed Valhalla is one of them.

Watch Dogs: Legion

Xbox Series X Launch Watch Dog

Quite different than Assassin’s Creed social media account that only listed Xbox consoles on its post, Watch Dogs Legion‘s Twitter account straight-up wrote that the game will be available on two different dates:

    • October 29th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and PC.
    • and November 10th for Xbox Series X and S.

Ubisoft added that if you have bought the Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions for $59.99, you can claim a free upgrade for the next generation consoles. Ready to get your hands on these games on the next-generation consoles? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
