The big trend taking the gaming world by storm these past few years is cloud gaming. For those unaware, cloud gaming brings the games into the cloud rather than on your PC. That means you can play your new favorite games instantly, rather than waiting for nastily long download times. That may not sound too useful, but it can come in handy when not wanting to download 200GB of Modern Warfare as an example. Despite this new wave of cloud gaming, the program is still very much in its infancy and isn’t appealing to casual gamers just yet. To help increase that appeal though, Amazon is entering the cloud gaming ring. Today, the company announces Amazon Luna, a new cloud gaming service built for gamers.

Amazon Luna, as it’s described, is built for gamers who want to play the games they already own on the fly. No more waiting for lengthy downloads or updates, you just hop in and play. With a wide catalog of games, there’s no doubt you’ll find a few all time favorites in there. All of these are available on various platforms you already own, meaning you can take the enjoyment anywhere. That means you could enjoy running a hospital in Two Point Hospital through your phone, only to explore post-nuclear Russia on your TV.

If Amazon Luna has you hooked, it’s pretty cheap as well. For $5.99/month, you get infinite hours of play, a library that’s only growing, up to 1080p/60FPS gaming, and more! If that package doesn’t interest you, there’s another coming later that gives some of those perks and Ultimate Editions of many Ubisoft titles. Not bad deals if you ask me. It’s even better if you’re a Twitch viewer, as you can play your favorite streamer’s title almost instantly when watching. You can join them in all the fun and shenanigans, which isn’t ever a bad thing.

Overall, Amazon is coming out with a formidable streaming service with Amazon Luna. With solid perks, a wide catalog of games, and a great controller to boot, there’s a lot of value here. Do you think Amazon Luna is the next big game streaming service? Let me know in the comments below.
