Trials of Mana, known as Seiken Densetsu 3 in Japan, celebrates its 25th anniversary. To celebrate the occasion, the developers are releasing a new update,ย  including Zoom backgrounds and a price slash on digital versions of the game. The patch will contain a new difficulty level that will challenge veteran players. After completing it, you will receive new equipment.

Trials of Mana Patch 1.1.0

Trials of Mana

This new patch will introduce the “No Future” Difficulty. This mode will test the most experienced Trials of Mana fans. The boss fights will have a time limit, enemies and bosses are stronger, and restrictions on abilities and item usage are in place. To compensate, players can have stronger equipment and can execute new chain abilities.

Hardened and veteran Trials of Mana players who complete the game in the “No Future” difficulty will be rewarded with “Rabite Slippers”. This new equipment that you can see on the image above will let the player roam fields and dungeons without encountering enemies. For those who want to play the “New Game Plus” mode, you now have the option to choose “Expert” difficulty. An option to revert characters to level 1 is also added. Costumes can now be accessed on “New Game Plus” or after resetting a character’s class too. All in all, some solid difficulties and refinements.

Digital Discounts and Zoom Backgrounds

To continue the celebration, Square Enix is slashing the price of the game’s digital copies. Other Mana titles are also at discounted prices.

  • Trials of Mana at a 30% discount
    • Nintendo Switch
    • PlayStation 4
    • Steam
  • Secret of Mana at a 50% discount
    • PlayStation 4
    • Steam
  • Collection of Mana at a 50% discount

Trials of Mana | Your Adventures Begin

Trials of Mana or Seiken Densetsu 3 in Japan was released in 1995. This third entry to the classic JRPG Mana series was given a full, high-definition remake later on. It surpassed Square Enix’s sales expectations even though it was released right after the Final Fantasy VII Remake, which is no small feat.

Now is the time to immerse yourself in this classic and unforgettable adventure together with Duran, Angela, Charlotte, and the rest of the gang. If you’re going to hop back into Trials of Mana, be sure to let me know in the comments below!
