Golden Globe-winning actor Oscar Isaac, best known for playing Poe Dameron in the Star Wars sequels, is poised to make the switch from a galaxy far far away to the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. The star is in talks to join the franchise to play Marc Spector aka Moon Knight in a Disney+ series.

At the moment, Disney+ has a lot of Marvel projects either coming soon or in development. Soon, we’re going to see WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier drop on the streaming service. That’s not all, because Loki, Hawkeye, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel are also in development. Of course, we can add Moon Knight to that list, and hope Oscar Isaac can free some time in his packed schedule to play the superhero.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight first appeared in the Marvel comics universe way back in 1975. Named Marc Spector, he goes by many alter egos including a taxi driver named Jake Lockley and millionaire Steven Grant. He’s kind of like Marvel’s answer to Batman, but he’s very much his own character.  Disney+ sees the character as a great option to introduce to fans in a series rather than a movie. According to Deadline, Isaac is currently in talks to portray the character, so it’s important to stress that nothing has been confirmed yet. The series will be written and developed by Jeremy Slater, who had the same role in Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy. There is currently no director attached to the series.

This won’t be the first time Isaac has been involved in a Marvel project. He also played big bad Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse back in 2016.

If the news is true, Isaac will be the latest high profile name to join Disney+’s Marvel shows. This comes shortly after Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) was reported to have signed on to the She-Hulk series.
