All aboard the Infinity! Halo 4 PC release is finally coming as the final title to join the Halo: The Master Chief Collection for PC on November 17. Yep, the game’s dropping on 11/117. Neat little “coincidence.” Along with the base game and visual improvements, 343 Industries is bringing back per-piece armor and visor customization and adding the Halo 4 Champions Bundle DLC skins as well. And this time, the DLC skin will show up in the Spartan Ops multiplayer mode. The development team said that the Halo 4 Champions Bundle weapon skins will come first. DLC armor pieces are coming later, most likely when Halo: MCC Season 5 launches sometime next year.
With Halo: MCC Season 4, there will be an update on how weapon skin works in Halo 4. Your selected skins will show up across every loadout. But you can save a different skin for a particular loadout as well. And unlike in Halo: CE and Halo 3, weapon skins won’t change when your gun is dropped and picked up by other players. The multiplayer’s biggest downside is that the development team has basically confirmed Spartan Ops mode is still not getting a matchmaking feature for the Halo: MCC release.
But Halo 4 won’t be the only title getting the spotlight in Halo: MCC Season 4. Halo 3 and Halo: Reach is also still being updated. Reach will be getting a fix to the “smiley face” player emblem bug. Regrettably, though, even if previously 343 promised it’ll be adding the unreleased “GRD” armor, the team has decided to “remove it” from Halo 4‘s launch. They hit a difficulty and now targeting it to release with the next season. At least Halo 3 is still getting more vehicle and weapon skins. It could be worse.
