A hacker group known as Ragnar Locker breached Capcom‘s server on November 4th and stole around 1 terabyte of data. They now have leaked a part of it to the internet, with most of them being sales reports, financial information, business partners, and employee personal information. Judging from some of the contents of those leaked documents, it seems the Switch-exclusive Monster Hunter Rise could be getting a PC port, along with two other Monster Hunter games.
According to the leaked document, something called Project: Snow will be released in October 2021 for PC. Six months after Monster Hunter Rise launched on Switch on March 26, 2021. Although the document doesn’t exactly specify what Project: Snow is, a Monster Hunter Stories 2-related document referred that the game will feature monsters and locale from both Project: Slugger (accompanied by a picture of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne) and Project: Snow (with Monster Hunter Rise concept art).
But no other specific detail is known. There’s also a mention about something called Monster Hunter Endless for PS5, Xbox Series X, PC, and Stadia. But just like Monster Hunter Rise PC port, so far, there’s nothing else to follow up on.
Meanwhile, Monster Hunter Stories 2 will launch simultaneously on Switch and PC in June 2021. The game features 140 monsters in total; at least nine of them are new additions from Monster Hunter: World: Nergigante, Legiana, Kulve Taroth, Bazelgeuse, Anjanath, Tobi-Kadachi, Paolumu, Pukei-Pukei, and Kulu-Ya-Ku. From 140, 90 of them will be recruitable to your party as a “Monstie.” The game will also offer three different game modes:
- Story Mode.
- PVP mode (one vs. one or two vs. two).
- Cooperative dungeon crawling and challenge mode with AI partners.
The leaked document also hinted at several other Capcom’s upcoming projects as well such as:
- Project Highway or Village Online, a Resident Evil battle royale.
- SHIELD, a new multiplayer shooter game with a 2022 launch window.
- GUILLOTINE, a brand new title for Switch.
- New Ace Attorney Collection, containing Ace Attorney Trilogy and localized Dai Gyakuten Saiban duology for Switch and PS4
- And Resident Evil 4 VR for Oculus VR.
Unfortunately, nothing about a new Dragon’s Dogma or Lost Planet, though. Still, a known Capcom leaker Dusk Golem commented over on the ResetEra forum, saying some stuff “may no longer be true.” So take any information here with a grain of salt. Because even if they came straight from Capcom’s server, plans could always change halfway through the development. Do you hope the Monster Hunter Rise PC leak is real? What do you think of Endless, is it gonna be another Frontier or Online, maybe? Tell us in the comments below.
