Dauntless has begun to cement itself as one of the better free-to-play games out there. With hours of content waiting to be explored, and a satisfying grind waiting to be tackled, there’s no stop to what people can achieve in it. While it’s as good as it is, it’s argued that some of the game’s systems are a little bit dated at this point. That thankfully is where the latest update comes into play. Dauntless Reforged, the biggest expansion for Dauntless yet, releases tomorrow on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch completely free. You can find the launch trailer, showcasing all of the refreshed content, below.

Dauntless Reforged - Launch Trailer | PS4

As aforementioned, Dauntless Reforged looks to freshen up some of the key areas long left unattended. One of the biggest is the new Hunting Grounds that you can explore. These are similar to the current offerings, but developer Phoenix Labs has touched them up to make them more atmospheric and beautiful than ever before. Everything from islands in the middle of a void to northern lights throughout arctic landscapes is present now. The trailer makes these locations look beautiful, which should make them that much more fun to hunt in.

That’s not all though, as Dauntless Reforged also reworks the game’s progression and the story completely. There isn’t too much on what the latter means yet, but the team promises improvements to various broader areas for progression. These include more visibility towards the bigger picture and more player agency to make your slayer more tailored to you. There’s a blog post made by the team that does the changes more justice than I ever could here, so I suggest you read through that here.

Overall, tomorrow’s update should make Dauntless feel better than ever. If you haven’t played yet, you definitely should hop on board. You won’t regret your free adventure. Will you be trying out Dauntless Reforged? Do you think those areas look as beautiful as I think they do? Let me know in the comments below!
