2010 was a year of nothing but serious passion for the triple-A game space. There were such wonderful titles as Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, StarCraft II, Halo Reach, and so much more. While nowhere near the same quantity, the indie game space saw some incredibly great titles as well. LIMBO and Amnesia: The Dark Descent are just two examples of that. There was another though, which quickly took the hearts of the entire platforming game community. That game is Super Meat Boy. Now, a decade following the game’s launch, it’s finally time for the next chapter. Super Meat Boy Forever, the long-awaited sequel to the indie masterpiece, is now available on PC and Switch for $19.99. You can check out the latest trailer below.

Super Meat Boy Forever takes us well into the future, where Meat Boy and Bandage Girl have had a child named Nugget. Unfortunately, Dr. Fetus has kidnapped the child, sending the dynamic couple on a long chase to once again put a stop to his foolish acts. One special way they’re changing things up this time though is procedurally generated levels. Each time you run through the game, all levels will be different. This means playing through Super Meat Boy Forever can be an absolute blast a second time, adding to that massive level of replayability. It’s a platformer that promises a lot and can be yours for quite cheap.

Tommy Refenes, co-founder and programmer at developer Team Meat, had this to say of the game’s launch:

It seemed like this day would never come, but after over a decade Super Meat Boy has a fully fledged sequel that takes everything people loved about the original, but makes it meatier and more super. I knew I didn’t want to release a sequel that was simply more of the same, so Super Meat Boy Forever rethinks the entirety of how the game works, from the controls, to your moveset, to the new power-ups. It’s a completely different experience that still fundamentally feels like Meat Boy. And with its thousands of randomly generated challenges, you can literally play it forever!”
