Talking animals aren’t anything new. In movies, that is. If you’ve encountered any in your day to day life, it might be best if you put down any sharp objects you’re holding and go talk to someone with a couch and a clipboard.

But on the silver screen, we’ve had talking animals since before Steamboat Willy. And nobody does talking animals better than Disney.

And no one’s better at killing them…

And now the house that Mickey built is producing another talking animal film; Zootopia.

Set in the titular city, the film follows the adventures of a rabbit named Judy Hopper (get it?). Judy (voiced by Gennifer Goodwin) has big dreams about being a police officer in Zootopia. However these hopes are dashed when she’s relegated to parking duty due to… well, due to being a small rabbit.

Things soon heat up when the Naive Judy meets con artist fox Nick, whose antics she quickly falls for. However, before long, the two are forced to team up to find a missing otter.

Directed by Byron Howard (Tangled) and Rich Moore (Wreck-It Ralph), Zootopia was promoted at Friday’s D23 expo, with two brief scenes being shown. The first, where Nick cons Judy into buying ice cream from him. The second, is where the two of them go to the DMV (run by a sloth) to follow up on a lead.

A fox and a rabbit. Let’s hope that they didn’t take any inspiration from real life.

Something else of note is that Shakira will be voicing a character in the film. Namely, Gazelle a… gazelle who is Zootopia’s biggest pop star. She will sing a song in the movie called ‘Try Everything’, a quick snippet of which, was played at D23.

Zootopia will be released on March 4th 2016.
