Marvel’s Heroes Reborn has changed the universe in a number of ways. Without the Avengers, Hyperion and the Squadron Supreme of America are Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. And after what he does to the Hulk in this latest issue, it’s clear that Marvel’s Hyperion is the strongest one there is.
**SPOILERS for Marvel’s Heroes Reborn #2 by Jason Aaron, Dale Keown, and Carlos Magno**
After the events of the last issue, in which Hyperion took on a Juggernaut-powered Doctor Doom, the villain was banished to Marvel’s Negative Zone. Unfortunately, Doom’s imprisonment somehow released the rest of the Negative Zone criminals. Leaving his day job as a high school history teacher to put a stop to the escaped villains, Hyperion proves himself a formidable opponent.
Initially, he takes on Gladiator and the Shi’ar Imperial Guard, all infected by the Brood. Secondly, Hyperion defeats Mister Beyonder. Then he heads to the Daily Bugle and stops a miniaturized Annihilus while saving Peter Parker. Finally, he defeats a giant Ultron. Afterward, Hyperion heads back to school to find the greatest threat already waiting for him: Marvel’s Hulk. Hyperion tackles the Jade Giant out of the school building. But the Hulk is no weakling.
Enraged and confused, the Hulk recognizes something is wrong with reality. Hulk knows that his friends are missing and calls out for the Avengers. Unfortunately, Hyperion is Marvel’s Mightiest. Seeing that the Hulk will kill him if he gets the chance, Hyperion doesn’t hold back. As the Hulk cries out for his friend, Steve, Hyperion unleashes his atomic vision. Eventually, he blasts the Hulk to pieces and melts him down.
If Marvel’s Hyperion is tough enough to kill the Hulk, how well will the Avengers beat him? Will Captain America’s return be enough to reassemble the team for the first time? And who else would you like to see in Marvel’s Heroes Reborn timeline? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
